How it works

Submit a repair request

Start by filling in the repair form and letting us know what’s wrong.

You’ll receive a response within 2–3 days with a cost estimate based on your description (and photos, if needed).

Review your estimate

You’ll have up to 30 days to decide if you want to go ahead.

When you’re ready, confirm via email (a button-based confirmation is coming soon) — and you’ll get the shipping details.

Send your camera

Pack it securely and include your name and reference number.

Tracked shipping is strongly recommended. Once it arrives, repairs typically take around 1–2 weeks, depending on parts and workload.

Repair, test and invoice

Each camera is repaired and tested before return. If any issues come up mid-repair, you’ll be contacted right away.

Once the repair is complete, an invoice is sent — payment is due immediately. Cameras not paid for after 30 days will be stored, and storage fees may apply (as stated in the Terms & Conditions).

Back to filming

Once payment is received, your camera ships out — fully tested, tuned, and ready to film again.

Tape Mechanism Errors

Symptoms - Tape won’t eject, loads incorrectly, or displays error codes such as C:31:23, C:32:10, C:31:40.

Playback or recording issues

Symptoms - Dropouts, distorted footage, or no playback image.

Image problems

Symptoms - “Acid trip” colours, white screens, or no image (often CCD-related).

Focus or lens faults

Symptoms - Blurry focus, stuck zoom, or internal dust.

Power issues

Symptoms - Camera Won't power on or shuts down unexpectedly.

LCD screen faults

Symptoms - Black screen, flickering, or backlight failure (especially on TRV models).

• A diagnostic fee applies, which is then waived is the repair goes ahead.

• Courier repairs accepted - please pack cameras securely to prevent damage.

Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

VX Doc provides a 3-month warranty on the specific repairs carried out, starting from the return date. This doesn’t cover unrelated issues or normal wear, but your statutory rights under German law remain unaffected.

How long does a repair typically take?

Once your camera arrives, most repairs are completed within 1–2 weeks, depending on workload and part availability. You’ll be notified if additional time is needed.

Do I need to pay anything upfront?

No - There’s a €40 inspection fee for preparing the quote, which is deducted if you go ahead with the repair. No other upfront payments are required.

What if my camera model isn’t listed?

If your model isn’t listed, just get in touch — VX Doc can often source compatible parts or advise on alternatives.

Do I need to arrange a shipping or will you provide one?

Customers are responsible for shipping both ways. Please send tracked and insured parcels to the address provided in your quote.
